Manager Rick Forney announced a trio of signings today, among them infielders Scott Schade (pictured) and Jeff Beachum and outfielder Brian Aragon. There are now a dozen players on the Goldeyes roster, seven of whom are pitchers.
Schade, 25, was on the opening day roster last year and split his time between third and first. Solid on defense, he was a career .235 hitter coming into the 2007 season and was batting a solid .301 when he injured his ankle in a June 20 game against Edmonton.

Never able to fully rest and recover, his average dropped to .244 before he was placed on the Inactive List in early August.

Beachum, 24, returns to action after taking the 2007 season off. He was signed by the Yankees in 2006 out of NCAA Div. I Middle Tennessee State and made four stops in their system that year, batting .202 in 37 games.

Aragon, 24, played the last two years in the Yankees system after New York drafted him in 2006 out of NCAA Div. I North Carolina State. A career .237 hitter in 95 games, he is primarily an outfielder but has also seen action at first.
