Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced that the Chicago White Sox have purchased Matt Davis’s contract. He is the fourth member of the 2007 club and 51st player in franchise history to be picked up by a big league organization.
Davis, 26, joined the Goldeyes last April following four years in the Cleveland system. One of six players to represent the club at the Northern League All-Star Game, he went 6-2 with 18 saves and a 2.98 earned run average in a team-leading 44 appearances.

His saves total was good for third in the league, as were his 62 relief points, while his saves were the third most in a single-season in franchise history.

Davis follows Luis Alen (New York Mets), Brent Metheny (Chicago White Sox) and Dustin Pease (Kansas City) as Goldeyes picked up since the end of the 2007 season.
